Chalet Boy in waiting
The biggest personal drawback in the current recession, apart from the obvious one of being away from Sue, my wife, is the hours just spent waiting In order to balance the books it is necessary for me to work in the months between seasons in England and all I seem to do is wait!I wait for the sun to come up so I can go to work, I wait all day at work for it to finish, and I wait all evening so I can go to bed to start the next day in waiting. At the weekends I travel to see our children and grandchildren from whatever part of the country I am building Tesco’s in. This of course involves a lot of waiting; on the motorway, in the service area, at the traffic lights, especially the ones 200 yards from my son’s house that are permanently red. Why is that when traffic lights are set 60% in your favour you still seem to spend 98% of the time sat looking at them? Now it is nearly December and the waiting is becoming unbearable. Everyone at home is Bozel is waiting for the snow to come, waiting for the lifts to open, waiting for the guests to arrive and waiting to start skiing again. As for me I am just waiting to go home! And no doubt I will be quizzed as to why I have put on so much weight.
